Pine Harbour High Performance home

An East Auckland south facing and sloping site, with a historic midden to one side created real challenges for this new home aiming for Passive House Certification. The brief was for a single level home which capitalised on the client’s love of the sun, with a small flat beneath. Moving the home away from the northern boundary enabled a spacious external living space, while mitigating the excavation required. A double aspect, full height living space allows for the sea views to the south, while clerestory windows pull in sunlight from above. A master suite to the south east gains morning sun, and exterior decks allow the clients to admire the expansive views.
